About Us

MTR, Inc. began operations with 3 employees in Murfreesboro, Tennessee as a full line copying dealership in August of 1979. MTR expanded operations in 1985 by opening a branch in Manchester, Tennessee.

In January of 1989, MTR moved to its 5,500 square foot, custom designed building which is our current location.

For over 30 years, MTR has pursued it’s original objectives of offering only the highest quality equipment which is fully supported by highly trained sales, technical, network and support personnel.

MTR has established a premiere sales and service reputation by always striving to meet and often exceed our customer’s expectations.

2015 brought big changes with the consolidation of the Murfreesboro and Manchester branches to streamline operations and pool resources which affords our clients even better service and support.

Jere Garland - President

Jere founded MTR over thirty years ago and has consistently maintained the core principles while developing the company into what it is today. His top priorities are providing the customers and employees of MTR, Inc. the opportunity to achieve unlimited potential through ethical business practices and values.

John Garland - Vice President

John merged our Manchester and Murfreesboro offices and is always on the outlook for ways to bring added value to the table through advances in technology and trends in the document solutions industry. He is also spearheading our Total Managed Print Services Division.

Mike Colvin - General Manager

Mike heads up the sales division and has over 25 years experience in the industry. He specializes in fostering our largest commercial and government accounts. Mike is also responsible for many aspects of the day to day operation of MTR and providing feedback to the Technical Services Division.

Sam Lowe - Sales Manager

Sam has been with MTR for almost 8 years with almost 20 years in the industry. His knowledge of equipment coupled with a keen sense of what clients and prospective clients needs are is where the rubber meets the road.

Gary Phillips - Sales Manager

Gary is relatively new to MTR but has been in the industry for some time now. Don’t underestimate this guy. He has a strong moral compass as well as a need to create the best working environment for his clients.

Joshua Simmons - Service Manager

Joshua comes to us with almost 20 years of experience and training in the technical as well as mechanical side of the machine operations. He brings a diverse background in Management as well. He is a welcome addition to our team.

Philip Stem - Senior Service Technician

Philip combines almost 20 years of experience and training to quickly and efficiently keep your equipment running like a top. His troubleshooting skills and mechanical aptitude are out of this world. You would be hard pressed to find anyone who stacks up to him.

Kristie Hamlett - Office Manager

Kristie manages our corporate office and oversees the accounting and finance functions. She operates very much in the background yet her role is absolutely crucial in the stability and growth of our organization.

JJ - Service Dispatch/Help Desk Specialist

JJ is usually our client’s first point of contact. She gets to listen to your issues and makes sure the information gets on the board. She is very good at initial troubleshooting and can often times get you up and running until the tech arrives.
